Alumni Marketing Intern 

SUMMARY

Assist in the planning and execution of key events related to the St. Louis Blues Alumni Association and other community service ventures.  This is an unpaid internship, candidates must be able to receive collegecredit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet and greet guests of the Alumni in a social atmosphere at Blues home games.
  • Create spreadsheets, documents and flyers
  • Create unique photos and documents for display or sale to benefit charities
  • Assist the Alumni Association and in planning various events, such as banquets, charity hockey games, Alumni Fantasy Camp or golf tournaments.
  • Must be able to work evenings during St. Louis Blues home games.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • Highly proficient in Excel or Numbers, Word or Pages, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Must possess high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Strong oral, written and listening communication skills. 
  • Ability to work under pressure, recognize problems and find solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Box Office Intern 

SUMMARY

The St. Louis Blues and Scottrade Center seek a Box Office Intern to assist with the venue’s box office operations. The selected intern will work with management to ensure a smooth flow of ticket operations and help assist customers receive the best service as possible while learning the day to day operations of a fast paced business. This is an unpaid internship for college credit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform maintenance, filing and archiving of all paperwork for events.
  • Report up-to-date audits and sales numbers to promoters using Ticketmaster Classic and Archtics ticketing systems.
  • Work with management staff in filling ticket requests for all events as well as help to track ticket requests.
  • Create visual mapping of each event, to be used by promoters and operations for events, using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Assist in answering customer service inquiries, in phone or in person.
  • Assist in reconciling all daily revenues and money management.
  • Perform general administrative duties.
  • Other projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • College Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university earning college credit for completing an internship.
  • Flexible; 20 hours per week.
  • Requires availability to work some weeknights and weekends in addition to normal business hours during the season.
  • General office/administrative experience.
  • Organization and attention to detail is a must.
  • High ethical standards and a strong sense of confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Writing and editing skills.

Building Operations Intern 

SUMMARY

The St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center seeks qualified candidates for the position of Building Operations Intern. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in day-to-day duties within the building operations department with maintain the facility, as well as, preparing the facility for events by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Building Operations Director with maintaining the facility as well as preparing the facility for events by performing the following duties.
  • Coordinating with back of the house staff.
  • Must be able to understand and follow labor contracts.
  • Assist Building Operations Director with event management.
  • Assist the labor crew on making of ice.
  • Performs alterations and routine service operations of facility systems.
  • Supervises events as assigned.
  • Responds to user needs for setup changes or additional equipment.
  • Maintain and enforce high standards of safety.
  • Assist operations department with production managers for events.
  • Maintain and enforce St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center Guest Service, Team Member and Appearance standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule around concerts and game days/nights, including weekends.
  • Must be in enrolled in college courses. (Preferably a junior or above).
  • Must maintain the utmost level of professionalism, dealing with various VIPs within the organization.
  • Must be a team player

Digital Media Intern 

SUMMARY

The St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center seeks qualified candidates for the position of Digital Media Intern. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in day-to-day duties within the Marketing department with an emphasis being placed on the team’s website and email communications. This is an unpaid internship, preferably for credit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Digital Media team with day-to-day maintenance of Blues, Scottrade Center and Peabody Opera House websites.
  • Create visually effective emails, using best practices to drive conversion.
  • Create advertisements and graphics for websites and emails in Photoshop such as ticket offers, promotional nights, etc.
  • Assist in tracking the performance of email campaigns, providing measurable statistics as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule around game days/nights, including weekends.
  • Must be in enrolled in college courses. (Preferably a junior or above).
  • Must have advanced knowledge & experience in HTML, particularly with creating email campaigns.
  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of email design, coding & best practices.
  • Must have ability to create strong graphics in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a MUST.


Guest Services Intern 

SUMMARY

The St. Louis Blues/Scottrade Center/Peabody Opera House seeks qualified candidates for the position of Guest Services Intern for the upcoming semester. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in event and administrative duties within the Guest Services Department. This is an unpaid internship, preferably for credit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the preparation and set up of training sessions, hiring sessions and Building Security meetings.
  • Assists with the Lost and Found program.
  • Assists with the building tour program.
  • Responsible for completing special projects as needed.
  • Prepares event signage, assists with event equipment set up and preparing event information.
  • Provides guests with general building information.
  • Shadows managers during events to learn first hand event knowledge.
  • Assists Administrative Assistant with the set up and monitoring of general admission area for concerts without floor seating and with pre-event activities.
  • Assists in the scheduling of staff for early calls and tours as well as the monthly schedule.
  • Assists with the creation of newsletter.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Guest Services Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled college level student.
  • A desire to gain experience in a professional sports and entertainment environment
  • Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills
  • A strong work ethic
  • General office skills are necessary (Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, filing, copying, etc).
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be a team player.
